Why
Vintage Shoes?
|

Vintage
shoes are amazing peices of art for your feet! The quality in a vintage
shoe will challenge any pair of Manolos,Choo & Louboutin anyday.
"Hand lasted & hand finishing" are common features
& tearms associated with the vintage shoe.
What is hand lasted?
A shoe-Last is the form around which a shoe is formed
So hand-lasted are shoes that are formed by hand.
Hand finishing is finishing done by hand, not a machine.
Quality
leather & suede is used very often in vintage shoes and lining
with
glove leather in the vamp is quite standard.
Leather
soles are also standard on vintage shoes, you can't even replace a
sole with leather on a shoe unless you want to pay $30.00 per
sole!
Satins in vintage shoes are the reason the term "Slipper Satin"
became commonplace when describing the quality of a satin.
Silk fallie, fur, exotic skins, lurex and vinyl are fun variations from
standard leather to mix your vintage shoe wardrobe up a bit.
One of my favorite vintage things to collect is vintage shoes and
matching handbag sets.
